Problem description:

If you are using Brooktrout TR114 BRI card, it may not work correctly when installed firmware is older than 2.79. Error looks like this: from outside view all works fine, but card can not make a call anywhere, incoming calls aren't accepted (call is answered and hung up immediately).

Problem solution:

Install fimware 2.79 into the card. It can be found on installation CD from Faxchange version 6.0.36 in file support\Brooktrout\tr114\ForCustomersbri279andfaxfw219release.zip. Procedure:

• stop all Faxchange services
• unpack mentioned file
• start command prompt and go to the folder where file was unpacked
• run briconf -f brifw279.s
• firmware configures card to point-to-multipoint mode, so if you are using point-to-point mode, you must switch card using briconf -p bri.txt command, where content of bri.txt file is the following:

  datalink ptp
  bearer 31kaudio
